Clayton Pierce brought these photos of his
car to my attention, and included the following commentary:
This is a 1982 Plymouth Gran Fury. The pics show it as I got it... in full service dress of a Greene County, TN Constable. It was originally a Tennessee Highway Patrol Car. Still drove very well but had some miles on it. Unfortunately I was involved in a hit & run in it... guy hit me and I ended up driving halfway up a steep bank and then landing on the top in the middle of the road. This was about 4 months ago. I can personally vouch for how solid these cars are... rollover... had to crawl out through the window to exit the vehicle... and the only injuries I had were one small piece of glass I later picked out of my knee and a couple of bruises that went away after a few days. Car wasn't so lucky though... pretty much a complete total... all 4 doors still opened and shut though... and the car still ran and drove after I replaced the oil that leaked out while it was on its top. Sold the car for the engine and wheels for more than I originally paid for it ;-) I've got a couple of muddy-nightime pics of the car after the accident that I haven't scanned yet. Note the only police equipment on the car at the time of the accident were driver and passenger side Unity spotlights. Web Page: http://www.442spot.com/cpierce/plymouth/ |
